2020-2021 academic year onwards Mahatma Gandhi University is commencing innovative Five Year integrated interdisciplinary Master of Science programmes in five major disciplines at IIRBS.

These programme aims to integrate the conventional bachelor’s and master’s programmes under a specified learning experience by bringing together various science disciplines. The offered disciplines include Chemistry, Physics, Life Sciences, Computer Science and Environmental Science. This five-year integrated programme follows a pattern with initial three years of undergraduate (B.Sc.) level Foundation courses followed by two years of Postgraduate (M.Sc.) level Advanced courses. At the end of the programme, Integrated M.Sc. Degree will be awarded in the discipline concerned.

Eligibility and Admission Process:

Total intake for the Integrated M.Sc. programme is 20 with 4 seats each for five disciplines. Students who have passed Plus-Two (+2) in the Science stream with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade are eligible for application. However, relaxation in minimum marks for reservation categories shall be applicable as per the rules. Admission to these programmes will be based on a national-level common entrance test conducted by the university followed by an Interview.

  •  The unique inter/multidisciplinary curricular content of this programme enables the students to complete both graduate and post-graduate level programmes in a continuous stream and to attain a high-level competency in their area of specialization.
  •  The programme structure is designed in such a way to offer high-quality learning environment for students by ensuring intellectual, instrumental as well as experimental support for pursuing excellence in offered disciplines and thereby expected to contribute to the talent pool of researchers and specialized technicians.
  •  Classes will be handled by the faculty members from the university as well as eminent visiting professors of International/national repute.
  •  The first four semesters involve a set of comprehensive mandatory/optional courses in all offered science disciplines and mathematics along with a few courses from Humanities, Social Science and Languages (Including foreign).
  •  Later six semesters are completely devoted to the courses from major disciplines.
  •  Curriculum also consists of hands-on training on various advanced instrumentation techniques.
  •  The curriculum offers opportunities for carrying out project work/Internship(s) at prestigious academic institutions in India and abroad.
